Cove Run's Sleeping Beauty shown here by me.

My name is Janine Brock. My family and I live in the Southern Tier of NY with all of our cherished collies here at Cove Run Collies. When I was a young lady, my parents got a shetland sheepdog for a pet. I instantly knew that one day I was going to go out and have a kennel of collies and breed them. It took me a little longer than I had hoped as I was in the Marine Corps, but I kept to my dream once my husband retired.

My first collie, Emmitt, was bought from Sunnland Collies and a friend of mine told me I needed to show him. So, I did. Yes, then I got the bug. I have loved showing ever since. I thank all the wonderful mentors that have helped me along the way.

My first litter of collies was from my girl CH Travler's Miss Independent. My mentor and I painstakingly chose the when, The Who and the how and bred her to GCH CH Calibre's Key to the Fortune. She gave me two beautiful puppies.

My goal, along with all good breeders, is to bring quality, healthy puppies to wonderful families and show homes through good breeding practices and through thorough testing of my animals.

I currently try to get my dogs herding tested as they should be bred to do what they were born to do as they love it. I plan on getting into more things like obedience and agility in the future.

My oldest daughter enjoyed doing juniors in conformation but she recently aged out. I would look forward to mentoring anyone who is interested though. It is a serious sport though and should not be taken lightly. A child and their parents should be totally committed.
